I gots a question for you peeps...
I know that there are only six of you out there that read this blog of mine but I want to ask a question anyway. That said, I want you to know that I have no answere to this question. It may sound silly but this is it. Can addiction be an art form? I am choosing not to explane this any farther because I dont want to inhibit any responces by puting to many peramiters into the question. What do you think? (Matt Stars, Im looking at you.)

I think that really depends on what the addiction is. Are you using addiction to describe a compulsion like behavior, or are you meaning addiction in the sense of cigarets or heroin or something like that?
I agree with the doc...here maybe an interesting question would be what isn't art...
I swear child, if you're trying to say something about pot, .... I'm too stoned to even finish that.
jk.
or not.
I was sitting in church yesterday reading this magazine between the covers of my bible ( I know, I try and still fail ), and this girl in Yale did an art project where she got prego and had it aborted like 10 times. And the crits were like "well, yes, but, is it art?"
Is the addiction alone art? HELL NO, man. Is breathing an art? Not unless you MAKE it one. See? I think it's called yoga. Anyhow, my point is, is everyday life art? No way. And then again, yes. SO, your addiction, aka porn, is not art, unless it is art. If you say it's art. If you can make me believe it's art. I'd say: 90% is just in the presentation. Present it like high class art baby.
And pass me the pipe.
PS: as for johnnierunsideways comment, what's the point of a point if you aren't adding anything to his question. "the sky is blue." Well, interesting. So what? What is his point to say "what isn't art". Reversing the question helps no one Socrates. That's the oldest question in the art world. It was as impressive as a I-got-your-nose magic trick to a two year old. Well, buddytweak isn't two anymore. And "what isn't art" is a conversation ender. You can't answer that, and it ends further questions.
Being addicted to the art of making art? Or has this nothing to do with art at all?
This question is frying my brain.
"your addiction, aka porn...."
HA i love it.
in my opinion, addiction in general can not b art. but if it has a purpose, that could be different. Purpose = cognitive awareness in cause and effect linking for achieving a goal. If you are trying to achieve something with your addiction, then it brings different view and that can be art.
